Tips for a stress-free wedding

Another wedding season is coming upon us, closely and quickly. With the economy and often the stress of planning a wedding, a bride may feel overwhelmed. Here are some tips for these brides:
  • Set realistic budgets and stick to them. Try to keep your budget fixed, so you won't be tempted to add "extras." Make a list of all possibilities, i.e., wants and needs for your ideal wedding. You can fine tune your list with your budget in mind and know that your expectations can be met based on your fixed budget.
  • Communicate to your family and friends what they could do to help run your wedding day as smoothly as possible. You will need them to run errands, help choose flowers, etc. Trying to do all of the planning and legwork yourself is a huge strain that you don’t need at this time.
  • Contact a wedding planner if your budget allows. Often times, planners can work out an arrangement for different stages you are in when you call them. For instance, if your wedding is 3 months or 1 month away and you need urgent help – planners know that this happens and are willing to customize assistance based on your situation.
  • The last and most important item to consider is your actual wedding day. Try to schedule your hours before the ceremony to not be hurried. Hair appointments, makeup and getting dressed can all take more time than expected.
Slow down, and, take a mental inventory of all your wonderful friends and family who helped to make this special day all yours. Enjoy your day!
